RBC kicked off the Toronto International Film Festival Wednesay by launching the RBC Emerging Filmmakers Competition in partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Talent Lab. Prominent Canadian actor, filmmaker and Talent Lab Governor Don McKellar was on hand for the announcement as were TIFF Director and CEO Piers Handling,  RBC Regional President for Greater Toronto, Jennifer Tory, and emerging Canadian filmmaker and Talent Lab participant, Sonya Di Rienzo of Toronto. "RBC is proud to support the next generation of talent as they look to make their way to the big screen,” Tory said.

Twenty-five emerging filmmakers, who are participating in this year’s TIFF Talent Lab, have been chosen for the RBC Emerging Filmmakers Competition. Each filmmaker will be provided with a portable high definition camera and $500 cash and will be challenged to develop a three-four minute short film for the competition. Each year the films will focus on one topic – this year’s theme is water.

Take your shot at $100,000 at the RBC Avion Golf Challenge.

Former Edmonton Oiler Craig Simpson autographs the RBC Celebrity Signature Board at a benefit for the Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (LOW).

RBC will donate up to $10,000 to LOW in appreciation of those who signed the board. The evening was hosted the home of Roots co-founder Michael Budman. The very private affair was full of Hockey, Brisket and warm cheer for all.
